Your personal information is filed and secured in a locked location, which I am the only person who has access. Technology equipment used by the owner/therapist for the purpose of client’s treatment notes and/or personal information being transferred through email between therapist, client and client’s permissible third party health professionals is secured with up to date security software and password protection.
I am registered with and a member in good standing with the Massage Therapists’ Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS), which is a regulating body for massage therapists in NS. All professional protocols and guidelines have been undertaken and are followed. MTANS has the right to audit clinical notes and interview RMTs at any time to protect the public interest. This ensures your safe treatment by a massage therapist.
Personal information may be required by your own insurance company. These third-party companies which pay for your services have the right to ensure proper care is being offered to warrant the massage therapy claim. These companies could receive your personal information requested directly from you, through your massage therapist if you have signed a shared release of information form or will have legal authority to receive the information.
